A priceless collection of the late Princess Diana's most prized possessions are being put on display for the first time.
Thousands of items, from evening gowns, heirlooms and personal accessories, to photographs, letters and designer sketches, will be showcased in Diana: Legacy of a Princess, in Long Beach, California.
The exhibition, set to open June 16, is on the historic ship The Queen Mary, and also includes a garden bench that was a wedding gift for Prince Charles and the late Princess, as well as cherished pieces from other members of the Royal family too.

Many of the dresses on display make up some of the late Princess's most iconic style moments, including one long-sleeve, lace and pleated chiffon evening gown worn by the Princess in May, 1993.
Designed by Jacques Azagury, she wore the white dress to a charity gala performance of Mozart's The Magic Flute, in aid of the British Lung Foundation.
Another famous favourite on display is a floral-print strapless silk taffeta dress designed by Catherine Walker.

The Princess wore the evening dress to a premiere of the film Crocodile Dundee on June 21, 1988, and again for the Canadian premiere of Crocodile Dundee II, in 1991.
In February, 1987, at dinner hosted by the then President Soares at Ajuda Palace in Lisbon, Portugal, Diana wore one of her favourite tiaras, which is also on display.
And while attending a dinner at the Chateau de Versailles in Paris, on 28th November 1994, in aid of then President Barnardos, Diana wore another show-stopping Catherine Walker gown, this time a black halterneck, floor-sweeping dress.

Also on display is a strapless, colour-block gown which the late Princess wore on July 17, 1987 while attending a Royal film Performance at the Odeon Leicester Square cinema with George Peppard.
The exhibit, scheduled to open in Long Beach, California, is being presented in association with the breast cancer charity, Pink Ribbons Crusade.

The ongoing challenge to eradicate breast cancer was of special importance to Princess Diana.
The Queen Mary cruise ship, in partnership with Pink Ribbons Crusade, will dedicate a portion of the exhibition's proceeds to a non-profit breast cancer awareness and prevention beneficiary in Southern California.
