- Minnie Mouse's iconic polka-dot outfit has inspired London Fashion Week designersAnd now one of the world's most beloved and enduring cartoon characters is taking a leading role at Britain's biggest fashion event.Although Minnie Mouse won't waltz down the catwalk at London Fashion Week herself, leading British fashion designers are set to pay homage to Mickey's famous girlfriend at the event, held at Somerset House this September.Inspired by her unique style - not many of us could pull off red and white polka dots and a bow-shaped headband aged 84 - international designers including Giles Deacon, Michael van der Ham, Richard Nicoll, Katie Hillier, Lulu Guinness, Tatty Devine and Terry de Havilland will create ‘Minnie Mouse Must Haves’.The one-off garments and accessories will be unveiled at London Fashion Week and sold on auction site eBay to support the BFC/Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation.Fashion fans will be excited about a full collaboration with hot new design duo Meadham Kirchhoff and Disney are also hoping to sign up influential bloggers and beauty brands to spread the cute cartoon's statement style.Marc Low, vice president of Fashion and Home for The Walt Disney Company EMEA said: 'Minnie Mouse and her unique style continue to inspire fans across the world.'We’re thrilled to collaborate with such visionaries to create these one-off designs.
